Launched in 1991, the Midnight Star drew immediate interest and admiration when she first appeared, and she continues to turn heads on the Miles River today. The hull and deck are made of polyester with a teak and varnished mahogany finish, giving her a warmth and craftsmanship rarely found on modern production vessels. Eight meters strong, she comfortably welcomes up to six guests on board for private charter sailings on the Chesapeake Bay.
The self-draining cockpit is large and spacious, and every line, halyard, sheet, reefing system, engine handle, and furling control is within arm's reach of the helmsman, making her easy to manage in all conditions. Beneath the roof, the atmosphere in the cabin is warm and convivial, finished with satin-varnished mahogany by talented craftspeople. The Tadorne is a fast, stiff sailboat, and one of the most characterful vessels in the fleet.
